Siberian Fir is steam distilled from the needles and twigs of Abies sibirica, a tall, pale-barked conifer native to the forests of Russia. It's one of several fir and pine oils doTERRA offers, but its needle-forward distillation gives it a distinctly crisp, cold-forest character.

The aroma is green, woody and fresh, closer to walking through a pine forest after rain than a bottled version of a Christmas tree. It has none of the sweetness of Wild Orange or the sharpness of Eucalyptus, sitting instead in an honest, outdoorsy middle ground.

A few drops in a diffuser bring a crisp, forest note to a winter blend, and it pairs particularly well with citrus oils for something brighter, or with a wood oil for a deeper, more grounded scent. Many people reach for it as a change from the more familiar Eucalyptus or Peppermint in a diffuser rotation.

Why people choose it

  • Steam distilled from the needles and twigs of Abies sibirica, native to Russia
  • Fresher and greener than many other wood or conifer oils in the range
  • Blends well with citrus for brightness or wood oils for a deeper base
  • A popular change from Eucalyptus or Peppermint in a diffuser rotation

Common questions

What does Siberian Fir smell like?

Green, woody and fresh, like a walk through a pine forest — less sweet than Wild Orange and less sharp than Eucalyptus.

How is it different from other doTERRA fir or pine oils?

Each conifer oil has its own character depending on the species and plant part used. Siberian Fir's needle-and-twig distillation gives it a particularly crisp, cold-forest note.

What does it blend well with?

Citrus oils such as Wild Orange lighten it, while Cedarwood or Frankincense give it a deeper, more grounded base.

Is it a seasonal oil?

Not exclusively, but its forest aroma makes it especially popular through autumn and winter.

How strong is the aroma?

Noticeable but not overpowering — three to four drops in a diffuser is usually enough to fill a room.
