You should not have to take anyone's word for what is in a bottle — including ours. dōTERRA publishes laboratory results for individual batches, and there are a few things you can check on the bottle in your hand.
What to look for on the bottle
- An intact seal. The cap should still be sealed when it reaches you, with the tamper-evident ring unbroken.
- A cleanly printed label. Text should be crisp and correctly aligned, not a sticker applied over another label.
- A legible batch number and expiry date. Both are printed on the label. If either is missing or unreadable, ask the seller about it before you use the oil.
- A Quality ID on the base. Single essential oil bottles produced after May 2016 carry six or seven digits, sometimes with a letter, stamped on the bottom.
Look your bottle up with dōTERRA
That Quality ID is the useful one. Enter it on dōTERRA's own Source to You site and you will see the gas chromatography and mass spectrometry results for the exact batch your bottle came from, carried out by an independent laboratory. It is dōTERRA's tool, not ours, and the report is tied to your bottle rather than to a general claim about quality.

Two limits are worth knowing before you try it. Reports cover single oils rather than proprietary blends, because the oils that go into a blend are tested individually before they are combined. And they are available for bottles produced after May 2016, so an older bottle may not return a result even though there is nothing wrong with it.
Where our stock comes from
Every bottle we sell is bought directly from dōTERRA on our own wholesale account and shipped to us here in Dorset, where we pick and post it. Nothing is sourced through a marketplace, a wholesaler or a third party, so any order we send can be traced back to the dōTERRA invoice it arrived on.
