Serenity blends ten notes into one bottle — Lavender, Cedarwood, Coriander, Ylang Ylang, Marjoram, Roman Chamomile, Vetiver and Sandalwood, with a trace of Tonka Bean and Vanilla Absolute rounding out the base. It's one of the more layered blends in the range, closer to a perfumer's accord than a single-note oil.

The aroma is warm and floral rather than sharp — lavender and ylang ylang out front, cedarwood and sandalwood settling in as a woody base, and a last, faint sweetness from the vanilla and tonka bean right at the end. It's a soft blend rather than an assertive one, so a few drops carry further than you'd expect.

This is the blend many people choose for the last hour of the evening, whether that's a few drops in a bedroom diffuser or a single drop rubbed between the palms and cupped over the nose and mouth. It works just as well earlier in the day if you simply like the aroma.

Why people choose it

  • A ten-note blend built around Lavender, Cedarwood and Ylang Ylang
  • Rounded out with Coriander, Marjoram, Roman Chamomile, Vetiver and Sandalwood
  • A warm, floral aroma with a last trace of vanilla and tonka bean
  • One of the more layered, perfume-like blends in the range
  • Works from a diffuser or rubbed between the palms

How it smells

Warm and floral, lavender and ylang ylang to the front, cedarwood and sandalwood underneath, with a last trace of vanilla and tonka bean.

How to use it

In a diffuser
Add three to four drops to a diffuser, or rub a drop between the palms and cup your hands over your nose and mouth to breathe it in directly.
On skin
Apply one to two drops to the area of your choice, diluted with a carrier oil to minimise any skin sensitivity.
Dilution
Dilute with a carrier oil for topical use — most people start with one drop of Serenity to two or three drops of fractionated coconut oil.
Worth knowing
It's a soft aroma rather than an assertive one, so it suits a diffuser running for longer stretches without becoming overpowering.

Common questions

What does Serenity actually smell like?

Warm and floral, led by lavender and ylang ylang, with cedarwood and sandalwood forming a woody base and a last trace of vanilla and tonka bean at the end.

Why does it have so many oils in it?

Ten in total — Lavender, Cedarwood, Coriander, Ylang Ylang, Marjoram, Roman Chamomile, Vetiver and Sandalwood, plus hints of Tonka Bean and Vanilla Absolute. It's built more like a layered fragrance than a simple two- or three-oil blend.

Can I wear it like a perfume?

Once it's diluted with a carrier oil, yes — a drop on the wrists or the back of the neck carries the aroma with you through the day.

How many drops should I use in a diffuser?

Three to four is the usual amount, though it's a soft aroma, so you can add more in a larger room.

How far does a 15ml bottle go?

At a couple of drops per session, one bottle lasts a good few months of regular diffusing.
