On Guard Cleaner Concentrate is a plant-derived all-purpose cleaner scented with the On Guard blend of Wild Orange, Clove, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus and Rosemary. It comes concentrated rather than ready-mixed, so one 355ml bottle makes up a good number of spray bottles once diluted with water.

The scent is warm and spiced rather than sharp or chemical — orange and cinnamon lead, with clove and rosemary settling in behind. It's a noticeably different experience from a typical bleach-based spray, both from the bottle and once it's wiped down and dried on a surface.

Mix roughly two tablespoons of concentrate into a litre of water for everyday surfaces such as counters and tables, use a slightly stronger mix for bathrooms, and check the bottle for the dish-washing ratio. Keep it off hardwood floors and natural stone unless it's already diluted, and use it neat only to soak stubborn marks before wiping away.

Why people choose it

  • A concentrated, plant-derived all-purpose cleaner
  • Scented with the warm spice and citrus of the On Guard blend
  • Dilutes into a spray bottle, so one bottle covers a lot of cleaning
  • No preservatives added to the formula
  • A straightforward swap for a bleach-scented spray

Common questions

How much water do I mix it with?

Roughly two tablespoons of concentrate to a litre of water covers most everyday surfaces. Bathrooms take a slightly stronger mix, and the bottle gives a separate ratio for washing dishes.

Can I use it neat?

Only for stubborn marks — apply it directly, let it sit for a few minutes, then wipe away. Avoid using it neat on hardwood floors or natural stone; dilute it for those.

What does it smell like?

Warm and spiced rather than sharp — orange and cinnamon upfront, with clove, eucalyptus and rosemary settling in behind. It fades to a faint citrus note once surfaces have dried.

How far does one bottle go?

Because it's mixed a couple of tablespoons at a time, one 355ml bottle makes up several spray bottles' worth of ready-to-use cleaner.
